How I Became a Trauma Therapist

I moved from California to Texas in 2020, seeking a slower pace after years in the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles (I know what you’re thinking, not another Californian!). Shortly after settling in, I met a proud small-town Texan who later became my husband. When I’m not spending time with him and our children, you can usually find me outdoors or playing with our two dogs: Odin, a German Shepherd, and Remi, a Golden doodle.

Professional Background

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a master’s degree from the University of Central Florida.

My career began in a homeless shelter, where I gained firsthand experience supporting individuals navigating complex trauma, high stress, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. I later expanded my expertise in a trauma-focused private practice, working with clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

In every session, I aim to create a safe, collaborative space where open communication is encouraged. My goal is to help clients uncover their strengths and build the skills needed to create meaningful change.

How I Work

I’m not only a therapist but a someone who truly understands how complex life can be. I specialize in helping individuals and couples navigate trauma, ADHD, anxiety, and the challenges that come with relationships and family life.

My therapeutic style is direct, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I use evidence-based approaches like EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy; tools that help you move forward, not just rehash the past. Together, we focus on healing the root of the struggle and creating meaningful change you can actually feel in your day-to-day life.

I work with adults and couples who feel shutdown, overwhelmed, chronic guilt or constantly feeling “on edge,” whether it’s from unresolved trauma, ADHD symptoms that impact daily functioning, or relationship dynamics that feel heavy or unbalanced. I especially enjoy supporting first responders, military families, and neurodivergent individuals.

I AM DEDICATED TO HELPING INDIVIDUALS AND COUPLES HEAL, CONNECT, AND GROW

Therapy isn’t just something I do, it’s something I believe in.  I understand the realities of blended families, parenting bio children, step-parenting, and co-parenting with my partner’s other parent. These roles have shaped me into a more compassionate, real-world therapist who doesn’t judge and doesn’t pretend things are always simple… because they rarely are.

I welcome clients of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, and faith backgrounds. I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive space where you feel seen and respected for exactly who you are.

Whether you’re coming to therapy for the first time or returning after a break, you don’t have to do this alone. I’m here to walk with you through the hard stuff, with honesty, compassion, and hope.
